Q: Does this detergent leave any odor?
A: Yes, it does. It took me about 40 of the 55 loads in the bottle to figure out how to use just enough to clean the dishes and not being left with too much of the fake lemon scent. (It shouldn't be called free & clear, which typically denotes free from scents.)
submitted bySilenceIsGolden - 4 months agoA: There should be no scent left behind on your dishes after using Cascade Free & Clear gel.

Q: How many loads can one get out of a bottle? How many oz used per load?
A: We have soft city water and only run full loads. Got 55 loads out of it. It was extremely difficult to dose in a way that cleaned the dishes without leaving a disgusting, fake lemon scent. (I bought this not realizing that 'free & clear' did NOT mean no scent, unlike with pretty much every other product out there.)
submitted bySilenceIsGolden - 4 months agoA: Cascade gels don't include the number of loads on the bottle because the amount of detergent dosed per load can vary from one person to the next as well as different dishwasher brands and models. As an approximate average, consumers may use 62.5 mL of gel per load.

Q: Can you use Cascade gel in a dishwasher in which I've been using Cascade powder? The diswasher is about 10 yeaars old.
A: Our detergents are thoroughly evaluated to ensure they're safe when used as directed. We recommend reaching out to the manufacturer of your dishwasher or checking the manual to learn what works best with your machine.

Q: is this a liquid you pour into the dishwasher's soap dish?
A: Pour the powder or gel directly into the dishwasher’s dispenser (check the dishwasher’s instructions for details how to use the dispenser). If your dishwasher has 2 dispensing cups, fill both. If you live in an area with very soft water, fill the dispenser halfway. If your dishwasher has 2 dispensing cups, fill both half full.

Q: Can I use this product on stainless steel cookware?
A: That's a great question, Lacey. It's a good idea to consult the manufacturer's instructions or recommendations for cleaning stainless steel products, as they may have specific guidelines to follow.

Q: What is removed in this that is in cascade complete gel? They both seem the same and both contain added fragrance, but this is much more expensive so why?
A: We updated the emzyme to be more powerful in our gel, but less will be dosed to account for the increased activity.

Q: Is this really a disinfectant?
A: Thanks for your question. While our Cascade Free & Clear line is made with bio-based ingredients, while being tough on stuck-on messes, it is not a disinfectant. It uses both essential oils and enzymes to break up and wash away messes, but has no phosphates or chlorine bleach. If you'd like to learn more, know we're happy to chat, give us a call Mondays through Fridays, from 9 AM to 6 PM, EST. Our number is 1 (800) 765-5516.
